We have all seen and heard stories about Donald Trump and his wife, Melania Trump. But how many of you actually know about their first meeting, where the President fell head over heels, and it was love at first sight for him?

According to Irish Star, Trump was attending the New York Fashion Week bash, the place where he first met his current wife. The current U.S. President was there to meet another supermodel. Trump, however, was immediately drawn to Melania, who was 27 and pursuing a modeling career.

As written in the book The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump, the writer Mary Jordan gave us an insight into what happened during the gathering at Manhattan’s Kit Kat Club, where Cupid struck Donald, and he could not take his eyes off the now First Lady.

Trump, in an interview with Larry King in 2005, revealed that he went “crazy”. He was supposed to meet somebody else, a great supermodel who was sitting right next to Melania. “I was supposed to meet this supermodel. They said, ‘Look, there’s so and so..’ I said, ‘Forget about her. Who is the one on the left? And it was Melania.”

Writer Jordan, in her book, further described this magical night and claimed Melania and Trump had “great chemistry and energy.”

She quipped that Trump was a different person in the 1990s, and a lot of women were after him. She wrote, “He wasn’t in politics. He was charming and fun, not the divisive, polarizing person we know now, and if you were a model, they said he was so much better than the other older, rich guys who followed around models.”

The author further revealed that Trump belonged to a circle of men dubbed “the modelisers.” She wrote, “This was the age of the supermodel, and if you had money, you hung around, went to parties with all these people.”

According to her, Trump did not drink, did not smoke, and did not demand much. His only purpose was to be clicked with a gorgeous woman, which could make him appear in the papers. After this, he would get back to work.

The author also gives a sneak peek into Donald and Melania’s relationship and calls it “unusual”. She noted that Melania has a private area in their home, including a personal spa.

Jordan went on to reveal that Melania hardly goes to the West Wing and also does not like to golf. She enjoys herself in her little spa and loves to be isolated. “She is a loner. He is a loner. They’re pleased to be separated.”

Trump proposed to Melania in 2004 and then tied the knot on January 22, 2005, at the Bethesda-by-the-Sea church in Palm Beach. They also hosted a star-studded reception at Mar-a-Lago.

Melania is Donald’s third wife, and they are parents to their only child, Barron, whom they welcomed in March 2006.
