Barack Obama and Michelle Obama have been hit with divorce rumors for more than a year. But the couple has managed to shut it down every time. Recently, the former First Lady decided to do so by creating a strong style statement with her latest bold outfit.

Michelle is already known to be experimental when it comes to her sartorial choices. This has increased even more with time ever since her husband’s term at the White House ended. In her recent fashion outing, she sported a daring look.

In her Christmas 2025 wish, she shared an endearing picture with her husband on her official X account. However, it was her ensemble that commanded attention.

Michelle opted for an all-black attire with cut-out long sleeves and a plunging neckline. The outfit had a delicate, sheer detailing which added to its charm.

The 61-year-old paired the look with open hair and light makeup. Even though her husband chose a simpler outfit for the occasion, the former POTUS flashed a radiant smile while posing near his wife.

Her outfit fueled speculation that the rumors were false. The Harvard Law School graduate captioned the same saying, “Merry Christmas! Barack and I send you our heartfelt wishes for a blessed holiday and joyful start to the New Year.”

A social media user commented, “Merry Christmas. We miss the grace that you both brought to the White House.” Another X user wrote, “I miss when the White House had a real President and First Lady.” An X user called the couple, “Classy and gorgeous.”

Recently, comedian-actor Kumail Nanjiani addressed the rumors of an affair between him and Michelle. On the So True With Caleb Hearon podcast, he was quick to shut down these rumors.

According to E!News, Kumail revealed that while these rumors tend to excite him, he confessed to never meeting the 61-year-old. He said, “There was a rumor going around last year that I was having an affair with Michelle,” before revealing that he had yet to meet the former FLOTUS.

In her appearance on Sophia Bush’s podcast in April 2025, she addressed rumors of her not attending high-profile events with the 64-year-old former President. This was about her absence from Trump’s inauguration.

On this, she clarified that her decision to skip Trump’s inauguration was a personal choice and not because of some rift with her husband. The mother of two said, “They couldn’t even fathom that I was making a choice for myself, that they had to assume that my husband and I are divorcing.”

The former FLOTUS added, “This couldn’t be a grown woman just making a set of decisions for herself, right?” She also admitted that she never thought of divorcing her husband on her podcast, which had Barack Obama as a guest on the same episode.

Michelle said, “There hasn’t been one moment in our marriage where I have thought about quitting on my man, and we’ve had some really hard times.”
