Gavin Newsom and his attacks on Donald Trump have always become a source of entertainment for social media. He has once again made headlines after unleashing a fresh savage attack on the U.S. President. According to The Mirror, the California Governor’s press office described the way he was “schlonged” by former President Joe Biden.

Right after he said this, social media was quick to slam him for his language, because ‘schlonged’ is a slang term referring to male anatomy. Newsom’s press office took to their official X handle and wrote, “WHEN I SAID THAT DONALD TRUMP GOT SCHLONGED BY JOE BIDEN, IT MEANT GOT BEATEN BADLY. THE MEDIA KNOWS THIS. OFTEN USED WORD IN POLITICS! — GCN.”

It was in 2015 that Trump sparked a similar controversy over his insensitive language used during a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, before he was elected for the first time. He had told his supporters at the event that Hillary Clinton got “schlonged” in the 2008 primary race. His exact statement to the crowd was, “She was favoured to win, and she got schlonged, she lost.”

As expected, he was heavily criticised for the use of such language and especially the word “schlonged,” which, as per the dictionary, is a rude word. But he always has an answer for everything. Hence, taking to his X handle after the rally, he wrote, “Once again, #MSM [mainstream media] is dishonest. ‘Schlonged’ is not vulgar. When I said Hillary got ‘schlonged,’ that meant beaten badly.”

Trump did not stop there. Hours after the rally, he posted a statement similar to Newsom’s defense of his own comments. Making the California Governor’s intention of mocking the U.S. President evident.

Donald’s tweet read, “When I said that Hillary Clinton got schlonged by Obama, it meant she got beaten badly. The media knows this. Often used word in politics!” Some pointed out at the time that Trump may have been confusing “Schlonged” with the word shellacked, which means a decisive defeat.”

Well, before this mockery, Newsom made it to the headlines for the new nickname he had given Trump after the U.S. President allegedly pardoned drug traffickers.

Despite stepped-up anti-smuggling efforts in the Caribbean, Trump reportedly pardoned drug traffickers, a move that angered Newsom. The California governor took to social media to share a screenshot of a news article discussing the alleged pardons.

Newsom captioned the post, “ALL HAIL OUR NARCO-IN-CHIEF!” Shortly after he shared it, social media users began reacting to the post. Most users on X agreed with the California Governor’s jab and went on to add their own digs at the U.S. President over the alleged controversial pardons of drug traffickers.

Newsom’s public sparring with Trump is likely to continue, as he regularly uses social media to mock the President.
