Erika Kirk recently took a dig at former MSNBC host Joy Reid at a recent Turning Point USA event. This was in response to Reid earlier criticizing Kirk’s hug with Vice President JD Vance. However, the commentator had a quick clapback for Charlie Kirk’s widow.

Reid has been taking frequent potshots at the 37-year-old when it comes to her public appearances and speeches post her husband’s demise. Addressing Reid, Erika said at the event that she would gladly give a hug to the TV host and also “touch the back of her head.”

This was in response to her hug with Vance being excessively scrutinized because she was seen touching the back of the Vice President’s head. However, Reid quickly fired back at Erika, taking a sharp jibe at her.

According to the New York Post, Reid dismissed Erika and said, “The last thing I will say to Erika Kirk is this: Dear young lady, I don’t need a hug from you.”

She went on to add, “First of all, I would never let you get close enough to hug me ’cause I don’t trust you.” Not only this, but the 57-year-old also schooled the Turning Point USA CEO on why she would never allow her to touch the back of her head.

The former MSNBC host said, “And second of all, I don’t know if anybody ever told you – you’re pretty young – but don’t be offering to touch Black women’s hair. We don’t allow it. This is not the 19-teens. It’s not the 1920s or the 1930s.”

Apart from this, Reid also offered clarification on her earlier statement where she implied that JD Vance might leave his “Brown Hindu” wife, Usha Vance, for a “White Queen” like Erika Kirk.

The statement was criticized by some sections of the internet, who found it racist. However, defending her opinion, Reid said that she was trying to highlight the “racist” behavior of MAGA and how a relationship between Vance and Kirk would fuel the now-Vice President’s chances of becoming the President after the end of Donald Trump’s term.

Reid said, “MAGA is the one doing the racism. Not me. All I’m saying is the ultimate MAGA fairytale would be for JD to leave Usha Vance alone and go run off with Charlie Kirk’s widow. It brings the houses of MAGA together.”

Apart from this, the podcaster also took a jibe at Kirk on many critics pinpointing her many public appearances instead of being home with her two children after the passing of her husband.

Reid lashed out at the former Miss Arizona and said that she should focus on appealing to “white Christian nationalists.”

The commentator said, “You need to take care of minding your business, which is to keep that $80 million rolling in and figure out how you’re going to get those White Christian nationalists who follow Turning Point USA to understand why you’re working and not home with your children, who now don’t have a daddy.”

In her earlier interaction with Megyn Kelly, Erika Kirk had clarified that hugging someone warmly was her “love language.”

Recalling her hug with JD Vance, she said, “I’m walking over, he’s walking over. I’m starting to cry. He says, ‘He’s (Charlie) so proud of you.’ And I said, ‘God bless you,’ and I touched the back of his head.”
