Prince Andrew is already facing what may be the worst period of his life after being stripped of his royal titles by King Charles. The King was forced to make this decision after his disgraced brother’s links to the late, accused Jeffrey Epstein came to light. Now, with Christmas just days away, it appears Andrew may spend the holiday alone, as his daughter, Princess Beatrice, is spending it abroad.
According to The Sun, Princess Beatrice, the daughter of Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, found herself in a dilemma after receiving two invitations for Christmas this year. One invitation was from her parents, who were planning to celebrate one final Christmas at Windsor before their royal exit. The other came from the King, inviting her to spend the holiday at Sandringham with the rest of the royal family.
However, Beatrice appears to have declined both invitations and instead opted to go on a skiing trip with her husband, Edo Mapelli Mozzi, and friends. She reportedly made the decision to “avoid embarrassment.”
Princess Eugenie, Beatrice’s younger sister, is reportedly facing a similar situation after also receiving invitations from both sides of the family. According to The Sun, it remains unclear where she will spend Christmas, though it appears she is most likely to be with her husband, Jack Brooksbank.
An insider claimed that festive cheer at Prince Andrew’s home is in short supply this year. According to The Sun, this will be the first time in 20 years that Andrew has failed to put up Christmas decorations outside Royal Lodge. Sources said the two wreaths that typically adorn the gates were not displayed this year. Even the Christmas tree that was usually installed on the roof has reportedly not been put up.
Recently, U.S. justice officials released additional files related to the Epstein scandal, further deepening Andrew’s disgrace among the royal family.
According to the outlet, Beatrice told friends she was “tormented” by the competing invitations from the royal family and her exiled parents. One friend said, “Beatrice doesn’t want to cause any embarrassment and was torn between loyalty to the King and her parents. That is why, along with Eugenie, she attended the pre-Christmas family lunch at Buckingham Palace.”

The friend also revealed that Beatrice appreciated the way King Charles and Prince William looked after her despite all that had been happening with her parents, Andrew and Sarah. “She didn’t want it to look like they were snubbing anyone, so it was easier to go off with friends.”

This year will mark the final Christmas celebration for Andrew and Sarah at Royal Lodge. The disgraced prince was stripped of all his titles in October as scrutiny surrounding the Epstein scandal intensified. Andrew was given a year to move out, and as moving can take several months, he is still working out his exit from Royal Lodge.
Reports say the King will fund Andrew’s new life and will also provide him with a new home on the Sandringham estate.
The reports also claim that the former royal will move into a sprawling but dilapidated group of buildings known as Marsh Farm, located near marshy land. However, the property will require a significant amount of renovation before Andrew can move in. His ex-wife, Sarah, who had been living with him at Royal Lodge, is now reportedly looking for private accommodation elsewhere.
