The late Charlie Kirk and his wife, Erika Kirk, promote right-leaning ideologies. Their organization, Turning Point USA, further solidifies their principles amongst their followers. This has often led to social media having an extremely polarized opinion of the couple.

However, it has been found that Charlie Kirk’s sister, Mary Kirk, is said to share a totally different political viewpoint from her sister-in-law. This has also fueled rumors that Erika is estranged from Charlie’s family.

According to Nicki Swift, the Daily Mail stated that Mary openly proclaimed her support for Senator Bernie Sanders, who was then running for the presidency.

In a 2016 Facebook post, Swift stated, “#tbt to when I met Bernie a year ago and had no idea who he was, and now he is the light of my life.” She had captioned this while sharing a picture of herself shaking hands with Sanders.

She furthermore had shared another picture of a bird that seemed to be paying close attention to Sander during the latter’s rally. Mary captioned the picture saying, “I was the bird.”

However, Mary reportedly was leaning towards her late brother’s political ideology initially. In high school, Charlie Kirk’s sister was a member of the Wheeling Young Republicans organization that was spearheaded by her brother.

But after 2016, Mary Kirk’s political ideology completely took an opposite turn from that of her brother’s. However, this did not affect the close bond between the siblings.

A Turning Point USA supporter revealed, “Mary was a devoted sister to Charlie. Her politics are her business.” However, this has gone on to further aggravate the rumors of Erika Kirk not being on good terms with her late husband’s family.

Ever since her husband’s assassination on September 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University, speculation about Erika’s relationship with her late husband’s family is rampant.

An old footage of Erika with Charlie Kirk’s parents that went viral in October 2025 sparked these rumors quite aggressively. Erika stood several feet away from her late husband’s parents, Robert and Kathryn Kirk, at the White House ceremony where Donusald Trump had awarded Charlie the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

The speculations had begun from that footage resurfacing. One Facebook user had commented, “Are Charlie’s parents [not] close with Erika? They appear distant.” Another user commented, “They are family, right? Just doesn’t look like family to me. More like strangers mourning someone.”

Apart from this, in her December 2025 appearance at Fox News’ Fox & Friends interaction, she dodged questions about Charlie’s parents.

When host Ainsley Earhardt asked her how Charlie’s parents have been holding up, the 37-year-old completely avoided talking about them and said, “Everyone’s hanging in there.”

She instead focused on her mother missing her late son-in-law. This got some agitated reactions from social media users. One of the social media users stated, “She totally deflected the question on Charlie’s parents.”

Another X user commented, “She never acknowledges his family. She dodged that question the same way in many interviews.” A user on X chimed in, “I’m sorry if my husband dies, no one actually cares what my mother thinks. Where are Charlie’s parents?”
